If you’re overwhelmed, you’re probably beating yourself up for reading this instead of doing something else that you feel like you should be doing right now.
Take a deep breath and know that this will be worth your time.
Now keep breathing, and read on… or skip ahead and watch the video: )
Do you ever take on a project and then at the end say, “I wish I had a before picture!”
This was one of those moments for me.
Here’s the “after” photo…
The “before” was a hot mess of weeds, thorn covered wild rose bush, and decomposing underbrush.
I know it doesn’t look like much, but this is a HUGE improvement.
Why is this relevant to you as you sit there so overwhelmed?
Because I too was overwhelmed by my garden (and my accounting files, piles of business cards on my desk, my seemingly endless to do list, etc.). I neglected the yard and it ran wild.
In order to take the first step toward improving the situation, I had to figure out what the one thing was that would make the biggest impact on my daily life.
For me, it was clearing this path to our neighbor’s house since we share a garbage can and I couldn’t get to the garbage without threat of getting stabbed by a thorn. Or having Jax the Wonder Dog step on one with his paws. Or risk the kids being sliced and diced while doing chores and scarring them for life.
Needless to say, it was the one project that was most important and achievable in the time I had available.
Watch this week’s video here for the whole story.
Then ask yourself…
Q: What path do you need to create in your life?
In that moment with sunshine and a goal to get out of the house for a few hours, I needed a clear path to the garbage can to get trash out of my life more easily.
The depth of that statement isn’t lost on you, right? It’s pretty deep. Decluttering, creating paths, making space for more ease.
Where do you need to create space for more ease?
Let me know.
